Frequent flowerers

I wonder if orchid-growing webbers would be willing to share the names of varieties they have that are frequent flowerers ie. more than once a year. To start the ball rolling I have:

Colmanara Wildcat

Doritis pulcherrima (incl. the alba form)

Phaius tankervillae

Several Vanda hybrids that can flower up to 3 times a year

Ascocentrum garayi.

Looking forward to many additions....Ian

I know in the Vanda line you can get ascasenda gee I hope I spelled that right, that will/can bloom 3-4 x per year. Dendrobiums are great bloomers. I can't comment on your particular ones there with any personal experience other then the wildcat's I think is only a 1 x er. Possibility of being wrong there. I think it is a great idea that you are collecting ones that have the possibility to bloom more then once. But you will have to have conditions of a grower to get them to preform at top speed. Meaning adequate light, water, temperature day / night, fertilizer and of course air movement. I have had Vanda's of different variety's for years and only just recently am getting them to produce more flowers cause I increased their light and fertilizer and I am sure there are even more things that I could do better. So do what we all do, purchase what you like and then do that again and again and do your best and when they bloom it's like Christmas morning!

    Hi
probably my heaviest flowering plants are Brassidiums followed by Epicats. Terrestrials such as epidendrums and
spathiglottis will flower continuously as long as temps stay above 50 i only get one flowering per year with Phaius except for "Flava" hybrids. No flowers at all for them lol The terete vandas have been in continuous flower since mid Feb in spite of the cold and drought. Strap leaves have set buds but aborted 3 times this year yet are growing like weeds!!! Catts vary considerably for me from year to year. gary

My Phal equestris 'Riverbend' AM/AOS has been in continual bloom since August 2005 !!! The members of NCOS are tired of seeing it win ribbons & I DON'T even bring it in EVERY MONTH ANYMORE !! My P. equestris 'Hana Nguyen' AM/AOS goes in spurts of 8 to 11 months then rests for a month or 2 & starts again !! My Darwinara Fuchs Cream Puff X Ascocentrum miniatum is a regular twice a year, Bc. Ethyle does 2 to 4 blooms 3 or 4 times a year, Ctsm. Ten Dragons did 3 times this season, Ctsm. Spotted Dragon just put out his 2nd spike. How can you not love those that perform like that !!!

Several people have said their Phal Newberry Parfait 'Picotee' is never out of bloom. Whether it flowers frequently or the flowers last forever or a combo...

Here is a link that might be useful: Phal Newberry Parfait 'Picotee'

Can't beat Den. Lorrie Mortimer, a fabulous spatulatta/antennatum/antelope (whichever you want to call them---the ones that look like they have ears.)
The flowers are absolutely gorgeous and line up so perfectly in a row "looking at you" with their "ears" perked.
The flowers last so long...they bloom twice a year...and the last bloom is still on the spike as the new spikes are forming for the second round---almost never "out of bloom".

Thank you for your input everyone. Epicatts receive a good mention. I should have mentioned my Epicattleya Rene Marques, which is at least once a year and mostly twice (yellow/gold/white/lilac). Epidendrum hybrids are mostly very prolific. "Joseph Li" is the most recommended, many different colors. - Ian.
