I have taken pieces of cardboard and covered them with foil. I tuck them any place that I can to hopefully reflect more light. There probably is something else out there that would work better. Perhaps in a photograph store?

I've used mylar indoors with hydroponics setups. The downside is you must buy a lot of it. However, for $20, you can buy as much mylar as you will need in life. I bought mine from a hydroponic supply store.

The mylar works very well in hydroponic setups and the stores assume that the light source will be fixed or at most be mobile along a track where the endpoints are fixed. Sun through a window is hardly worth trying to capture and direct inside. Either it comes in by virtue of the window being angled correctly in the first place or it doesn't. In winter the problem isn't the amount of sun it is the very short duration of that sun and no amount of mirrors can extend the sunlight beyond what is natural for that latitude.

Keeping the windows clean is the only thing I have found that makes a difference. You'd be surprised how much gunk can be on the outside of the windows, especially with road salt and sand after a snow. Thinking of trying that stuff for car windows rain ex on the outside this winter. See if it makes a diff
