I had a kingianum for about eight years and got good strong growth, but never any flowers. I took a fit of apathy and let it dessicate a very long time...and threw it out.
What culture did I probably miss on it? I had it in nearly half day sun (one of those window greenhouse box things), which should also have given it fall/winter cooling, I fertilized oh..probably monthly.
I never could do much with a dendrobium...oncidiums and phals were easy for me, and catts too. Maybe something basic I overlooked in the dendrobium dex.

That mess of a thread was discussing why such an "easy" orchid is not so easy to grow in places with a real winter.

In general it is easier to warm things up rather than cool them down so I imagine that finding the place to put your kingianum in a zone 6/7 winter might be on the difficult side.

This is an orchid that is adapted to survive drought, so if you keep it too warm and moist at the wrong time of year it will grow new pseudobulbs and look lush rather than flower.
