Cannot find Dr Vanek in the RHS Database of orchid names, are you sure that is what is on the tag. Just trying to figure if it is strap or terete leafed.

Can you tell us where you have the Vanda placed....inside, outside, amount of sun etc. etc.

I bet it is Dr. Anek...strap leafed
Arthurm is absolutely right: it is important to know the details of where the plant is placed now to guess what is happening with it

Florida is a good place to be for a vanda. It could be that the plant is not getting enough light or water. Vandas like a whole lot of light, humidity, and water...What is planted in?

So rapid a response... three weeks. Not likely a lack of light. Probably the opposite. Not critical enough to scortch or burn but enough to promote yellowing. Lack of adequate nitrogen (fertilizer) also causes yellowing when light is at the top of the range of normal but feeding is not keeping pace. In three weeks that shouldn't be the case yet but I would rather see the Vanda fed than moved.

I have the same rapid response problem with an asco that I just put in a basket of coco. Its still outside. Been getting N all summer.

Its 87º today in Chicago and will remain in the 80's for possibly all of Sept. It seems to me that the sun has gotten a bit stronger. It must be the angle at this time of year. I have some things that are taking only partial sun that previously too full sun, protesting suddenly. Don't know why. I remember my dad telling me about burning my skin in spring and fall... I wish I had paid attention.
