Phalaenopsis lighting experiment

The one on the right has been under lights (four 4-foot 54W 6500K T5HO bulbs, turned on for 16 hrs a day) for a few weeks now, the other one on the shelf under with much lower light level. Which lighting condition looks better to you judging by how the plants look?

I've read somewhere that when foliage just about turns purple, that indicates the upper acceptable level of light. Well, there is no purple at all on the left and plenty on the right, so looks like I need middle ground. I am getting another fixture with 2 bulbs instead of four - would that be most appropriate from how it looks to you?
