Quite the opposite is happening! Your flower stems have turned a creamy white shade meaning the flower is dying which of course always happens after time. Have they been open a long time? That new shoot is great news as it could be a new flower spike or a kiekie (start of a new plant). I only see one shoot and it would be good to also see the leaves to see the general condition of the plant. But from what I can see its great news. When the flowers are finished cut the old spike off above the new top shoot so your new shoots can grow further.

Was the shoot not there before? Those kinds of shoots that do not develop are normal and they usually come out while the flower spike is growing and then just hang out there while the other buds grow and open into flowers. They sometimes stay deceptively light green colored so they appear new but really are just as old as the spike.

The second one it at the very tip, of both spikes.

Here the whole orchid, thanks of all the help! I'm not too sure how long it has been blooming since I just bought it, but it's been in bloom with me for about a month.

Winter is coming! You should put your State in your My Page details. Plant looks in pretty good condition. Have you got a spot where you intend to place the orchid? Having trouble seeing the new growth, maybe the bloom spike is going to grow at the ends?

As for cutting/not cutting, this is a contentious issue. The decision is up to you.

Well the plant looks lovely and healthy, and don't cut anything off now that you say there is new growth at the tip of both spikes. I would suggest you leave the flowers to finish and fall of and just keep watering as you have been doing and see what happens. Looks to me like you might get some more flowers in time or as jbw says they may have been there before and will do nothing. Suggest you try and straighten up that one spike a bit to be more vertical. Unclip the spike from the stake and put the stake in straight then clip the spike back onto it - watch if those growths are actually growing longer. If they are try to get a longer stake and tie them up to the stake so they look nice when the flowers open and not drooping all over the sides of the pot. Good Luck.

Is your pot draining? Do not leave the plant sitting in water. Otherwise, its probably just finished blooming. The tip looks like it could be growing.

Remember, make sure your plant is draining water, not sitting in it.

I think it looks pretty good but the size of the flowers and their stems seem disproportionately large. I wonder if someone gave it tons of blooming fertilizer. I guess that's better than having no flowers at all though.
