GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed, we've been sprucing up the site a bit. Among other things, we've added new ways to upload photos and email notifications of post replies. We are still cleaning out cobwebs and weeding some areas of the site, but we are also working on some bigger projects like a better search engine (yay!) and a mobile app. We'd also like to get some feedback from you. What enhancements or additions would you like to see? What do you love? What do you hate? Think big and small!

We can't promise the moon, but please know that we will read and consider every one of your ideas and suggestions. We appreciate your loyalty and dedication to our site and we know how important your community is to you. Help us make it even better!

Please use this post to offer your feedback. But, as always, you are welcome to contact me directly by clicking on my profile page.

Best regards,

Tamara Amey

Improvement indeed..as of now I have one question. Under garden forums i could not find anything relating to a Bougainvillea site. We have to go to Mid-Atlantic garden forum and/or New England garden forum I believe.

The most annoying thing I find is the number of people who ask for growing advice and when you go to their my page details you find that they live in the United States. A state would be most helpful.
At least I have NSW, Australia on my page details and using google readers can easily find Climate details.

So, maybe make it mandatory to enter a State or Climate Zone when new members enter their details.

Hi Tamara. I agree with ArthurM, a Country, State and Zone should be required by anyone who posts a question.

Your photo upload is a great addition but should allow multiple pictures. One at a time is time consuming.

Newer posts, within a thread should be listed first.

And it would be nice if it were easier to change your screen name without having to register as a new user.

    Thanks,
    Jane

Ok maybe one more comment here. As I was going through a post this rather rude intrusion just barges in, a commercial. Just interupts what I'm doing and gets in the way. Never have I thought, O' just what I was looking for its always annoying. Can't this stuff be put to the side and clicked on if interested?

    Thanks for listening,

    Greg

Hi Tamara and thanks for the opportunity to provide some feedback:

I'd like it if it showed "who" was the last poster to a thread. You show the original poster's name but not the last poster's, even though you do show the date/time of the last post.

    Good Luck,

Oh, and maybe fix it so I can't submit the same post twice. The first one above seemed hung and it allowed me to re-hit the submit message button a second time, thus the two identical posts...

    Hi everyone!

You asked and we listened. Today we are very excited to be debuting our newest feature -- post editing! To use this feature, go back to the post you wish to correct and you'll find the link under the 'My Clippings' links on the right side of the page.

I want to give a special shout out to all the testers who tried to break the editing tool. ;) Your feedback was insightful and invaluable. Thank you!

You may have also noticed that we adjusted the login cookie awhile back so that you should not have to login repeatedly.

Stay tuned -- we have more cool things in the works!

As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Best regards,
    Tamara
