    Carla:

While you were gone I ordered several mini's from Sequoia and this weekend I ordered Gruss an Aachen, Marie Pavie and Reomer's Hip Happy. I'm very excited about those.

I will be looking forward to seeing how Jeri Jennings does for you. I love the color.

Kate, I remember well you are getting some great roses from Sequoia, I'm going to miss that nursery.
Terryjean, what a fabulous list you have. I hope my Lady Emma will do well this year. I have Camille Pisarro but have only seen one bloom and it took my breath away.

Orders? Geez... most of mine have already come and are potted up. However, there are a few stragglers, and the new ones I've placed. OMG! I wish winter would go away. I am so bored being cooped up in the house with rain, snow and winds off and on outside. I want to see roses. So in my boredom, I order more. I have no more room. What is wrong with me? I'm insane!

Ok, here's what's still not here:

    Rosemania:
    ROCK & ROLL
    SHOCKWAVE
    JACOBS ROBE CL

    Edmunds:
    ADOLPH HORSTMANN (replacement)
    ALL AMERICAN MAGIC
    REMEMBER ME (replacement)
    COFFEE BEAN mini

    Mission Hills Nursery:
    BLACK MAGIC
    ETERNAL FLAME
    LOUISE HAY

    J&P:
    ENCHANTED EVENING (backorder)

    Hortico:
    ALOHA (Kordes florist rose)
    AMBIENTE (backorder-might not come)
    BONANZA
    FORTUNA
    HELLO DOLLY (backorder-might not come)
    HANS ERNI (ditto)
    HOME OF TIME
    SCENTED WHISPER
    S.E.A. OF LOVE
    SHANTY
    SULTANE
    SUN CITY (ditto)
    TABRIZ

I might place a couple of mini rose orders later this season, but for now this is it!! Oh wait... I do have a pending order at Vintage Gardens, however nothing is confirmed til March, so I won't count that one yet!

My name is Beth, and I am a Roseaholic!

Beth, one of the main reasons I'm not ordering more is the RRD I found last year. I found some on Champney's Pink Cluster in fall and had to cut Mons. Tillier to the ground. I'm being cautious for now.
Housework, forget it. I would rather do anything than housework. I don't mind cleaning, it's the picking up I detest.
Beth, do you grow Basye's Purple? If so, how has it done for you?

    Carla

Carla - what a bummer about Camille only blooming once. How long have you had her? I hope she's not that stingy. I know it will take a couple of years to see anything of any size.

Beth - remember I live in the land of the frozen north. I'm so longing for spring. I've cleaned and recleaned cabinets and closets so many times that I've lost count. I even went through an old cedar chest last week. There's nothing left to do inside. The cats are even hiding because they think they might be next and a bath might be in their future. You're lucky you can pot stuff up...I won't see any roses until April. I hope I survive two more months.

    Terry:

I had to laugh at your post. This weekend I made my poor husband help me re arrange all the furniture in the house and do some spring cleaning. He protested that it is NOT spring yet but still the cabin fever made me want to do something. So I can certainly relate.

Beth it sounds like you have some great roses there. I would love to try Black Magic. Once again your list of roses makes the rest of us look incredibly controlled:) I told my husband this morning that all this weather makes winter seem so much longer because you really cannot get outside. However the precipitation is welcomed so that keeps me from whining too much about it.

    Kate

Remember: I have NOMOREROOM! OK? Got that?

    So here's the list:
    Lady Bren
    Nostalgia
    Yantai
Canadian White Star (yeah I did it anyway)
    Hollywood Star
    Strawberry Romance
    Pope John Paul II
    Snow Ruby
    Tattooed Lady
    X Rated
    Red Intuition
    Rainforest
and mgleason has a Fire 'n' Ice he very generously and kindly rooted and baby sat over the winter for me too.

Of course there's going to be an annual (and last now unfortunately) trip to Great Lakes and you know I won't come home empty handed!

They're coming to take me away (ha ha, hee hee) any day now.

Beth, you can't have ordered that much. I thought you already had nearly every rose there was! So what did you already pot up? Enquiring minds want to know what lovelies will get to see this season.

Carla, that must be a bummer getting RRD. I'm so glad we don't get that here. No I don't have BAYSE'S PURPLE.

Terry, I spend most of my spare time on the computer so I don't have to clean house. OMG.... It's horrible. I feel like I've done a lot if I just get dinner and do dishes. LOL

Kate, I am out of control. I swear next yr I can't order ANY roses whatsoever.... (yeah right)

Seil, you think that list above is bad.... the ones I've already potted up number around 50. Yikes! And I would list 'em, but I don't wanna highjack Carla's thread. I think I've done enough damage already!! LOL

Guess I might as well join the fray and make a confession....I have ordered way more than I should. If it wasnt winter, I would be out digging in the dirt instead of online ordering roses.......Here are a few I have coming......

Judith, I hope you like your Peter Mayle as much as I love mine. I'm growing Chatreuse de Parme, slow going. I've always admired Cressida. You have a great list.

    Carla

Oh my goodness, I don't feel as bad now. I'm small time compared with you guys. You all have amazing orders coming! Can't wait to see your pics this year. :o) I had a big Sequoia order and ordered only two from Rogue Valley Roses. I got a lot of minis to try this year. The thing is....we have a spectacular Rose Nursery less than a mile from my house. A lot of my roses have come from there. Check out what I can buy this close to home. No shipping! With an incredible sale the month of Feb. If you buy four or more they are even more on sale. I have to show some amazing willpower a week from now....

I've gotten a lot of different-odd roses and OGR's lately, so I'm ready for some classics and newer great ones. The first few I would like to get from Raft Island are Chicago Peace, Pink Peace, Honey Dijon, Pope John Paul II, Paul's Himalayan Musk, and a couple of crimson Austins not sure which ones yet. My daughter wants Jude the Obscure for Valentine's Day. Isn't that sweet. She just loves the pics of it. I love all types of roses. Beth, they also have your Kaleidoscope. You have enabled me yet again!

Here is a link that might be useful: Raft Island Roses

You people that have NOMOREROOM sure are practicing restraint, LOL.
Adrienne, don't you love the folks at Rogue Valley? One of my orders is coming from there.

    Carla

I'm another one glad to have our Carla back! And another one with NO MORE ROOM!
    Still...

    From Vintage:
    Break o'Day
    Andrewsii

    From Great Lakes Roses:
    Belle des Jardins
    Alika
    Russelliana
    William Booth
    Outta the Blue
    Prairie Flower
    Mavoreen
    Silver Shadows
    Sweet Fragrance
    Lavender Jewel
Graham Thomas (my second one - the other came direct from D.Austin Roses)

And I really and truly will NOT be expanding. Really. I'm promising myself. These will have to go where a rose has died over winter, or where I have decided to remove one of my less-liked roses, or in a pot until a suitable spot opens up.

And I'm having a very hard time staying away from the rose nurseries bookmarked in My Favorites. I would love to order more; good thing the budget is tight this year - that helps me put the brakes on (!?!) I still need to remember I have to budget for things like mulch, fertilizer and such, too. Sigh* Anyone else's ears perk up at the news of that check Bush is talking about - after all, he DOES want us to SPEND it, LOL. (Just kidding...sort of.)

    Anne

    These are roses I ordered
    Earthsong
    Cameo
    Perfume
    Honeysweet
    Rosa Mundi
    Magic Carousel
    Wistful
    Enchanted
    Autumn
    Scentimenatal
and reordered "Distant Drums" which I lost
I love roses,I just hope I have energy and strength to dig all those holes.

I have to seriously walk away from this thread. It's very dangerous!!

    The short list:

    2 Mystic Beauty
    2 Borderer

Of course when I go to pick these up from Roses Unlimited....well, lets say the Unlimited always takes on new meaning when I stop in RU.

Didn't "order" anything as I have 100+ roses in pots getting ready to move. I've lost a few, thankfully not that many out of about 150. I'll have to go over the tags to see what I want to replace & what I don't.

I got an email from Roses Unlimited saying shipping for my roses would be April... I was stunned that Pat remembered! Last year I was looking for a rose to buy in my dad's memory (ended up with Daddy's girls) and saw Pure Poetry offered. I wanted 3 or 4 of them as I lost mine the last time we were selling the house. I can't speak highly enough about Pat. One of these years I'm going to go down there to meet her.

I know I've lost another rose (Sunfire) that makes me very sick as it is not around any more. I've sent Pat cuttings a few years ago, they didn't take. When we dug the bush out, I was going to send her cuttings but had so much going on that it didn't happen.

LOL, I had the pleasure of seeing Ronda "fill" her car last year. Who ya kidding Ronda? Sue, Pat is such a lady and I love to visit her garden.

    Carla

1 Golden Julia HT Band $12.50
1 Mme. Butterfly VID HT Alternate Band $0.00
1 Marie van Houtte T Alternate Band $0.00

My little order seems so modest compared with yours, but like so many of you, I am OUT OF ROOM!

Oh man, nwroselady... I thought about ordering ENTENTE CORDIALE. You think it's gonna look as good as their pic?

I thought I had no more room but it's all relative.

That's all I can remember now... there are more..

    Ingrid

    Carla

    Susan Hampshire, ht

Purple Beauty, extremely fragrant nearly purple ht

    Lance

I have had Borderer for two seasons and I really like it.

    I ordered from Vintage:

    Sunshine (polyantha)
    Etoile de Mai (polyantha)
    Mme. Cornelissen (Bourbon)
Souv. de Mme. Auguste Charles (Bourbon)

and I have a larger order from Ashdown, all of which I can't remember right now, but includes

    Floral Fairy Tale
    Himmelsauge
    Alain Blanchard
Antonia d'Ormois (not sure if spelled right)
    Hippolyte
    Ombree Parfait
    Marie d'Orleans
    Anna Scharsach
    Malvern Hills
    Benjamin Britten
    Burnet Irish Marbled

Ashdown had just an unbelievable deal on their website around Christmas and I could not resist.

At my old house I had several Gallicas grafted from Pickering and I felt so pleased that they did not sucker, but it seems I have fallen from wisdom and my house will be overrun by out of control own root Gallicas.

I am so easy, just e-mailed about ordering Borderer!
Patrick, I'm still waiting on Comtesse Cecile de Chabrillant to bloom and grow! This should be the year.

    Carla

Carla, I know the feeling. It's remarkable how long it takes some roses to decide whether to grow or die.

Patrick, you will like Sunshine. Mine that I got from Vintage in December has a bloom - tiny, light apricot with a little red on outer petals opens to light apricot. Charming!!
    Judith

Oh, I didn't see Sunshine on his order. I have Sunshine too but alas, it was a band when I got it. I'll be an old woman when my bands mature!
Judith, do you have pictures of Sunshine?

    Carla

Hi, Carla! Are you coming to Ashdown's Mothers Day Festival this year? I go every year since I am only 25 minutes away, yippee!

I have tried to resist buying roses in the past few years unless they are on my Wish List...or unless Ashdown is having a really great sale. My DH gave me a gift certificate for Christmas and I have ordered:

    Bright Ideas (love stripes)
    Brothers Grimm aka Gebruder Grimm
    Benjamin Britten
    Anna de Diesbach
    Ards Rover
    Heinrich Schultheis

None of these were on my wish list! LOL! Funny how that happens!
