Red spots on Catt. ??

Has anyone seen spots like this on a Cattleya? The red is raised slightly but not enough to be noticeable until you run your finger over it---that's when you feel a smooth, raised spot where the red is.

The whole plant. It's a plant I got at a show about a year ago and hasn't grown much.

Maybe the name will help--according to the tag it's

How much sun is this plant receiving? Looks like sunburn to me. Please describe your growing conditions.

I grow outside and this and most of my orchids are under either a shade cloth or orange tree with no direct sun all day.

This looks super strange and nothing I've seen before. I would argue definitely not sun burn, given the distribution. Is there any infection in the orange tree? Sometimes growing under deciduous trees, I've gotten weird fungal diseases. If you live near a university, you might be able to send a sample off for testing.

Nothing wrong with orange tree and the tree keeps its leaves all year. Right now oranges are beginning to ripen on it.
