soil block makers

I have been starting seeds in the basement for many years and am always looking for new things. Does anyone make their own pots with these soil blockers?? It sounds like a good idea but they seem to be pricey.

I start my seed in the plastic containers that strawberries come in. I use the bottoms, they already have drainage holes, and I put one type of seed per container. They work great but can be time consuming when it is time to transplant.

The idea of taking a soil block and putting whole thing into a larger pot seems like there will be less transplant shock.
