Over a year ago I submitted a picture of my plant which I thought was a Denb...most readers here said that it was a combo, Phal and Denb because of the leaves shown. I did a search for it here and could not find my old post. Since then, I bought a booklet on Orchids and the reading for a Dendrobium recommends during the winter it should rest..water should be withheld until growth begins in early Spring. Now, ever since i had this "combo" I have been treating it like my Phal...watering weekly and fertilize. My Phal is reacting to my culture by showing 2 new spikes, but nothing from my 'combo'. except great looking leaves. I wonder if that reading has something to do with why i can't get it to spike? BTW, would any Orchid survive by withholding water for at least 3-4 months?
