Sorry, I should have put it in. It's Nervilia holochila. It's one of six in the genus we have here in the Territory. This one I have growing naturally in large colonies on my place.

Very nice!! Reminds me somewhat of Arundina, Bamboo orchid . Sounds like a specie for me to try . I've been having some luck with terrestrials so I'm getting bold lol Will probably be hard to find in this corner of the world gary

Thanks Gary. There is a resemblance to the Arundina graminifolia. However, the Nervilia sends up a flower stalk from the tubers before leaves develop. The leaves come after the flowering and look a bit like Spathoglottis leaves (bit shorter and rounder). Flowers are only short lived but the plants grow in colonies so there's always a lot of flowers on show (if there's a colony).
