Druse, Making More Plants, Obedient plant - Fresh seed - sow @ 60F with temp reduction at night for germination in 30 - 180 days. Clothiers (suggestions more often for dried stored seed) - Moist chill of 12 weeks followed by 68F for germination.

Do you know which allium? (I'm assuming you mean an ornamental allium). Many need a moist chill, some will need a moist warm, followed by moist chill, where they will then germinate while cool....None need darkness that I know of.

If it was me, and since you are in zone 3, I would put those alliums outside for their remaining 'treatment'. I am assumimng you have had them inside with warm temps? By putting them outside they'll get some cold and variable temps, then warming when the warm spring happens:)

Thats where all my pots go when I don't see germination after a number of weeks. I put grit on the surface(this protects from rain washout), and label with a piece of mini blind.

I'm not sure which Alliums your doing but I did several using Winter Sowing. They all came up within a week. Check out the winter sowing forum here on Garden Web for more info. Since you are in zone 3 you have alot of time left.
