I want to start a small orchard in a difficult environment in the coast range, with late spring frosts and hot summers, and with clayey soils. I had hoped to buy root stock and graft them with materials from trees that do well here, apples and pears especially, but possibly some stone fruit too. But I was not able to find a source of root stock, so decided to try and find seeds for appropriate root stock. I have time to start from scratch, and just hope to create something that will be productive for a long time.

Any help for a source of seeds or root stockwould be appreciated. Thanks
