Rose trellis question

I want to put an arbor over a tea table and chairs for my nieces' fairy garden. Then I realized, I already have afternoon shade, so I really just wanted the effect of an arbor. Two narrow trellis pieces, with a cross piece at the top would give the feel of an arbor, allow a few roses and be much more affordable.

Is it difficult to attach trellis to the house? I've heard it's better to put a spacer behind the trellis. Has anyone done this and how difficult is it? Mom and I were thinking of doing it ourselves, but we can get help if we need it. It's a protected location, out of the wind and against the house, so I think I can zone push and put in a couple of Zephirine Drouhin roses. I love the color and that they're thornless, plus are supposed to do well in some shade.

Thank you for any ideas, suggestions, and hopefully encouragement :)
