I live in Zone 9 & I am looking for a hurricane resistant 7-8 ft tall hedge to serve as a windbreak. I would prefer a hedge w/ a narrow footprint that does not occupy a lot of yard space, growing more vertically than horizontally. I am not opposed to pruning it to keep it confined. I don't want something too comoon either. The more exotic the better, but not bamboo.
