Isn't that just tindora? Or a close relative at least. I can't grow tindora here because it winter kills (and it doesn't seem to be all that productive the first year), but maybe those would be a good substitute.
I've got two vines growing right now here in Central Texas. They get to be very long vines. But, so far, they haven't produced anything. This is the first year that it's in the ground. So,m I'm hoping to see some actual cucamelons on it next year. I haven't tried posting photos on here before. If I can, I'll attach some.
They do REALLY well here in Ga. I started out with a few small plants and liked it so much I use it quite a bit. The fruits make yummy little pickles! They are always fun at gatherings and parties.
This is my first year to watch them produce. I didn't realize they were a Fall producer. But, the vine is covered with little Cucamelons. I have yet to tasted it. I understand that they are good to pickle or use in Martini's. I'm looking forward to tasting one. Lordy, I had no idea that the vines would grow as long and far as they did. Glad I gave it some goat wire to climb. It used every bit of it.
