Rose Spring Dwarf virus

I am wondering if anyone has had ay experience with this virus? One of my clients asked me to come to their house and prune their three roses because she is not able to do it this year (she is 90 and broke her pelvis recently) and she has a rose that is growing small, curled, swirled with yellow leaves in the new growth regions, but not on the older growth. Doing research I was able to ID it as RSDV. She does not want to destroy the plant and start over, as it is one that someone gave her years ago, and says it "grows out of it", which, from what I am reading about it is true. As the summer gets here the problem will be less evident. ANYWAY, the question is do I have to worry about transmission. I found several sites that say NO and a couple that say MAYBE....if it was mine I would pull it up and get rid of it. It's not mine however....OH and I think its an Iceberg...of all the roses to be a problem for her its a very common one.

You can see the sick areas and one cane that appears mostly untouched. The pollen REALLY shows up on those leaves! LOL everything here is speckeled in it.
