My backyard is south facing, with a field behind the fence. It gets quite windy at times. My trees don't like it, and neither do I. We get lots of south wind, and I'm researching for some ideas to block some or most of that. I was thinking that by erecting some 4' x 8' lattice, anchored by 4" x 4" x 8' (buried in 18" concrete footing) might work. Growing some plants to block wind is also considered, but I prefer the man-made barrier, because I don't have much space left for wind-blocking plants. Any other ideas?
