\Rent one and see if you like it I think some of the big box stores rent them. Lowes will also cut a deal about 50% of the time just for asking. A extra 10% never hurt anyone.

I bought the Super Bronco(CRT) today but now wonder if i should of gotten a (FRT) model since I am tilling last years garden. But I know i will break up some new soil sooner or later. But then again, my soil is more sandy then clay.

I bought a troy-bilt super bronco last year at Lowes.I have great soil but I had to push ii most of the time it was to light. the motor did not provide enough counter wieght.thanks to lowes I took it back got afull refund. Went to sears and got a 7hp model No.917.293493 dual rotating tine type. Wow! what a world of diff. Also was 150.00 Cheaper. I love it!

From what I read the old Troy Built rototillers were made better than the new ones, so a used 20 year old Troy-Bilt Horse model might be a good deal if you could get one in good condition for a lot less than a new lesser model. My Troy_Bilt Horse that I bought in 1984 is still going strong, in fact I used it just today, although I had to replace the engine a few years ago. However the company that bought out Gardenway does not honor the lifetime warranty that the old Troy-Bilts had on everything but the engine and rubber parts and tines.

I recently bought a Husqvarva 700 DRT that I have enjoyed using so far. My garden is not too large yet, but I hope to expand in the near future. The Sears tiller that rdrush mentioned and the Husky 700 DRT are both made by AYP (American Yard Products), so they look very similar. I just bought the Husky because we have a great local dealer where I live. Down the road problems are likely to happen with anything mechanical, so that's why I made the choice that I did. Anybody have any experience with the Husky?
