transplanting in zone 7

i talked to a guy i work with and told him that my boyfriend and i had recently moved 7 azalea bushes. Most were HUGE and had outgrown their location, so we moved them somewhere else. my coworker said "i hope they survive, it's getting a little late to transplant."

just wondering, when is too late to transplant? i hadn't even considered such things... i just thought as long as you kept everything well watered, it would be fine?

i've been dividing/transplanting for about a month, and still have more that i would like to do. it seemed like it went from being too COLD out to do much of anything, to being too hot now!? Crazy!!!

Thanks for any info!
