I would keep an eye on them - and cut them back some if they start looking puny. I just dug up some of the "babies" that had layer rooted around my big ones - some of them didn't make it, but some did....course, it is now in the upper 80's and higher here in AL, and I don't get to water every day.....i don't think it is quite that hot up there yet right?...Good luck with them. They may surprise you and be fine - so long as you keep them watered.

I don't think azaleas have a "no-transplanting" time. As long as you get plenty of root system, put into a suitable new home, keep moist but not soggy, and prune a bit to compensate for the left-behind roots, they should be fine. Actually, I prefer to move them right after they bloom -- that way I definitely know which color is which, and the usual tip-pruning to induce new bud-set can be extended if needed to balance the root system while not losing next year's blooms.

Roseyp8255 - I'm just a bit north and west of slinkygirl78, and we've had mid-80's interspersed with freezes, although this week has been in the 60s and low 70s, gorgeous. The usual spring weather around here is a mix of July and March.
