I use roundup in a pump sprayer with the nozzle not quite a mist not quite a stream and just enough pressure to eject some spray. If you like you can cut a 2 litre coke bottle in half and use the top half as a type of shroud to go over the sprayer nozzle. (attach with duct tape)

every blue moon or so i may get a tiny bit of overspray on something but its of no consequence. just b sure you dont spray in the wind.

if weeds right up in around the plants take a bucket and a sponge. hold the weed in one hand and wipe with the roundup wet sponge with the other. dont step on wet weeds then walk in your yard or you will have dead footprints.

I use Round-up, too especially on those weeds that keep coming back from roots. In hard to spray places I use a foam (throw away) paint brush. This also works to put a nice straight edge on beds. I like the fact that it takes care of creeping grasses that invade the bed. In vegie beds I pull.
