I noticed that my plants had many female flowers at first and not one male, so I picked them as babies and ate them. The ones that I left were aborted. They now seem to be producing male flowers as well as female, so the fruit is obviously getting pollinated and growing larger now. I think its the hybrid variety that this is happening to, don't know why, but I am sticking to heirlooms in the future.
