I have a large fijian banana that suffered from a freeze a year ago. My wife cut it down to about 2ft tall and now its growing healthy. The trunk is about six feet tall and the leaves reach as tall as 12 to 15 feet with the trunk at the base 14 to 16 inches in diameter. I have been trimming it like a palm tree but it looks funny being so fat at the lower part of the trunk. How do I trim this magnificent tree?
