Help with Planting Groundcover

Forgive my really basic questions. I want to plant some groundcover (golden moneywort), but I'm not sure about the spacing. I have read 12 - 18", but what if there are existing plants. Do I plant 12 - 18" from the existing plants? Also, from the front of the house, do I measure 12 -18" from the wall? And, between rows, do I measure 12 - 18?"

BTW, yes, I read all about their invasive qualities. I think it will still be better than the bark that is rotting because it's too wet in the area. =)

Thank you so much for your help. I have special ordered the flats, and I could use all your expertise.
