Mosquito solution for gardeners

Living near a freshwater pond, I've been plagued by mosquitoes my entire life. Do any of you guys have this problem? It's infuriating when I try to garden, and I lose the peaceful feeling I know I should have. To fix it I bought a mosquito hat with netting to cover my head and neck. It's been great, I'd suggest it if you suffer from the same annoyance.

a net hat and long sleeves is about the only thing you can do short of all out chemical warfare. personally i can't stand the hats, so i just spray OFF pretty heavily and have very few bother me. that or i bring my wife out to the garden, cause if she is around they will all attack her and not me!

The hat might be a good idea anyway as so many of us are living so long we are increasingly experiencing the risk of skin cancer.
