I just had to remove the rims from my recently acquired TB horse tiller. I don't think they'd ever been removed. Had to drill two holes in the wheel for puller bolts and use lots of oxy/acet heat to get them off. After removal, the wheel bores and axles were cleaned well w/ emery cloth and a wheel cyl hone followed by a generous quantity of anti seize. I don't want to have to go thru that again!!

Funny how often this happens. If people took them off for a lube once every 3 years this would never happen. I just went through this with a craftsman tractor. I ended up throwing the tractor away. I spent hours hammering and lubing. I basically wasted so much time.

Just bought the tiller, was like new ( except for rims) used very little, just was not used for a along time. Don't intend to throw it away, would just like to fix the rim issue.

If your sole reason is to do a tire repair- ie install a tube consider doing it on the machine.

I have a perfectly good transaxle that I wanted to sell on ebay. I couldn't get the wheels off either and I have dream tools!

Now the question is: Do I want to use an angle grinder and heat to remove both rims for a few bucks on ebay?

Finally got them off. Alot of penetrating oil and a large hammer.

Did you consider whatever delicate transmission gears that may be at the other end of the shaft?

Guess I'll fnd out soon.
