Rose water

I'd like to try making a rose martini this summer. Seems like an appropriate drink to sip in the garden. Anyway, I was wondering about making my own rose water. Anybody ever done it? I'm wondering what kind of rose to use. I would assume something that's very fragrant would offer more flavor. Maybe Abraham Darby?
