IF you post the Sears number, someone could than determine WHICH transmission it has.
It should be something like 917.xxxxx

The transmission is a Hydro Gear 222-3010l
According to this document, 20W-50 oil.

Hi DW, better to Refill it with Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-50, that is what we use for oil change. CHANGE FILTER. Info was from the repair update when that tranny was new.

But as almost always Bill is right, the original fluid is 20w-50.

That is also what is in most of the smaller Craftsman hydros too. BUT NOT ALL!!

if your tranny is of the serviceable type, related service/maintenance info will be noted in the owners manual for your tractor. If not, prolly best to contact hydrogear tech support as that tranny is out of production.
