Gilson Drive shaft

I was looking around on the Gilson and saw that the shaft coming from the engine has a safty mechanism built in. It's a fiber disc that's bolted between two metal rings. I'm thinking it's like a shear bolt. My question is where should I start looking for a disc like this ?

For Gilson parts see a Toro Dealer. Gilson/lawnboy was bought by Toro in 1990.

That disc is actually similar in function to a u-joint, it allows the shaft to operate in a plane that is not parallel to the crankshaft.
