The SN indicates it was built in early 1975. If it has a 6HP engine then it is a model H60 Horse Tiller (not to be confused with the 6 HP Tecumseh engine which is model "HH60".

TY! It does look more like a B&S engine. I have the # off the cowl if that helps.

I was able to clean off all the gunk from the engine and yes, it is a "HH60 10509E 4319R". I take it that this a Tecumseh 6 HP and not a B&S.
One other question, does MTD support these older machines, parts wise?

Iam looking for help with this troy horse tiller. serial number 596651 as stamped in the housing. Does anyone know how to get imformation on this tiller. Iam in need of parts,seal and things of this nature.It would be most helpful if you could help. Thanks a bunch

Hey guys.. I just bought a Troy Built tiller and can't seem to find the model info on it. I have attached a link of the pics of it.
It has a Clinton Engine with oil bath airfilter.

That last one might be a problem, Clinton went out of business in the mid 60's so it is a very old machine. From my experience, MTD does not support the old ones but you might find more on e-bay. Good luck and hang in there, they are very tough machines and worth keeping.

I bought one exactly like yours a couple of years ago at a yard sale. The serial number is located on top of the transmission housing. Some parts are still available for them. Mine was/is missing the rewind housing which i haven't been able to find. Other than that it works great. You can google troybilt tiller parts and find several sites including MTD that still has parts.
