lb59 and old threads- What up?

Is it just me or have some of you also noticed that lb59 has gone way back into the archives and dragged out over a dozen old threads that have already been beaten to death?

What's up with that?

lb59..... are you just bored or do you simply like to see your name in print? LOL What, pray tell, is the purpose of dragging those ancient threads out into the daylight?

1*I'm glad somebody else said something.
2*I don't care to see those old threads anymore.
3*I wish GardenWeb would delete those old posts like the old days.

He does the same stuff over at some of the other forums like TBN and MY tracto Forum. Just ignore...

    Castoff,

I was thinking the same thing this past week. I noticed he pulled two of my original post (front blade modification and truck to tow my 2210 out from a while back) and after some clarification, he started a new post "what trailer to tow a sub cut?"

So you guys have met Lb59 or Lbrown59 ? LOL
This might put things into perspective - its a slow loader, so grab some refreshments

Maybe the FTC spokesman Linda Breeze is also his/her alter-ego. I'm gonna bail on this thread anyway. It's way to "out there" for me.

Not much happening here these days.Winter time hybernation I guess.Atleast its not the old stuff like.

What oil filter will fit my John Deere

    Should I use synthetic

Will a Johnny Bucket fit my L100

What tractor for my 7 acres budget is $1200.00

How to put Windshield washer fluid in my tires?

    Should I get Gator blades?

How many pistons do you own?

Will my GT5000 work as a brush hog?

    Cracked frame Craftsman

    Is this John Deere real?

What do you put in your cup holder?

It takes me 30 minutes to mow my 3 acres with a GT5000

Should I get a manual or automatic?

Where do you store your tractor?

    Seat time is great

    Amsoil is great

    Gator blades are great

Johnny Buckets can move a mountain

Can I put a loader on my GT5000?

    metal or plastic dump cart?

I can answer all of those (to my own satisfaction, at least) EXCEPT the windshield-washer-into-tires question. Scanning the list proves you've been around a while!

johndeere- that list is awesome! I bet we will see a few of those topics here in a month or two when it warms up!

    johndeere,

Speaking of old threads, did you finally get to use that new snowblower?

    machiem,

What about the (old) thread "How do you take care of your tractor after you mow?".

Your answer had to do with:

    Wash the tractor
Hand carry it into shed, and set it on sterile gauze
    Build a crate around it
    Fill the crate with peanuts
Fill the crate with inert gas
Place a lead sheild on the crate to defend against stray gamma rays

That was the funniest post I ever read anywhere. And I still laugh when I think about it.

    egkor (Gary K)

machiem Funny you ask.I used it this week.I truely had to use it.Could not get out of the drive without it.Before were just test runs.Ok playing around because I could have made it without clearing the snow. But not this week it got a real workout. Those drifts were deep.Im sold on Simplicity when it comes to snow blowers.Only thing it did not stripe my driveway?Thought that was a Simplicity trade mark.

Hey johndeere you have been around for a while. I remember back when you could barely type! Man, have you improved.

I haven't posted much for the last year or so. We bought a new house and I gave my old Scotts to my son in St. Louis. Smaller yard that I can mow with my old Honda in about 45 minutes. The old Scotts is still doing fine though.

Good list you posted. I hope we are still buddies!

JohnDeere, that's a fairly comprehensive list. Here are a few more.

Is 20hp hype or is it really needed?

Can I use an auto oil filter on my tractor?

    My tractor doesn't start.

My tractor is in gear but doesn't move.

My K-46 hydro groans and/or looses speed on steep hills.

My rear wheels loose traction on hills and wet grass.

My old 4hp tractor could pull a Mack Truck out of a ditch.

Do you need chains to blade snow?

Should I get a blade or a snowthrower?

Do I need to remove my deck to take off the blades?

    How do you sharpen blades?

Should I buy my tractor from a dealer or a box store?

    Which engine is best?

Should I get a gas or deisel engine?

    Stabil is great.

    My engine blows white smoke.

    My engine blows blue smoke.

    (Fill in brand) is JUNK!

    What's this tractor worth?

Yea were still buddies.A lot of the old buddies like your self just are not around anymore.

I remember the Scotts debates.Wow they were fun also.I remember Scotts owners you could get there shorts in a real twist.Hours of fun and cheap intertainment! Then they sort of faded off and you had to jab at the Sears Craftsman guys for awhile. The GT5000 owners you could really get them fired up.Hours of nightly humor and something to do on these cold winter days.Seems they all vanished?I miss those wild Johhny Bucket stories and a GT5000 LOL what a hoot that was.

Then came the John Deere L series they were the next group to come along. But recently its been a Cub Cadet mud slingin fest.

Seems like the old timers from here have vanishied. But Wheelie Boy still pops in from time to time with his humor.I liked to jab him about that WheelHorse and Simplicity Regent. But then he woke up and bought a John Deere GT235.Sort of took the fun out of it LOL. However he even seems calmer then in the old days. There were a lot of great guys around here that just seemed to die off.

Someone should start a What ever happened to?Thread or maybe a Roll Call like I remember seeing several years back.

I think I rubed several the wrong way. With my Neighbors Cracked frame Craftsman pictures.I notice I get snubbed to this day over that from several.Started out as fact and was meant as just that. Then a few ticked me off and the rest is history.

The funniest thing that ever happened in the time I have been here. Was the guy from Texas with the Husqvarna from Lowes.Who used it for everything except mowing. He was clearing a lot.Was putting in a veggie garden. He came here for information and a few months later was giving it.He liked to modify everything.Even did away with the notch from forward to reverse. He could not be bothered wanted it faster.Funny stuff on a daily basis back then.

Back then members knew they were just being friendly kidded. Then a few came and spoiled it and the rest is history.

There was a few Cub Cadet 2166 owners around here. One traded for a John Deere GX series I think.I always liked talking with him.Can not remember his name?He seemed to vanish.Miss hearing from him a lot.

I remember that Bald Headed John Deere salesman who went to far.It was funny for awhile but then realised he was not acting he was serious.

Then the guy who started the great L series deck hanger bracket debate.

Things have changed. Some for the good others not good at all.

Ahh yes the good old days - lots of laughs and a few tears (from laughing)

Ya. I was thinking about the Texas guy with the Husky when I started reading your post. As I remember, he was an airline pilot. Seems to me he put ag tires on the back and a Johnny Bucket on the front and then built a rear hitch using a 12 volt linear actuator. He tortured that Husky every chance he got, making it dig in places no one else would put a LT.

Yep, johndeere, those were good times and many times I laughed until I cried over some of the stuff that went on. But a few times I actually did get hot under the collar over some percieved insult to my Scotts. But not for long. That was all part of the fun.

Seems like they started kicking people off for practically nothing, a new lawn tractor site opened up and many just lost interest. I tried the new place a few times and it is still going strong, but it just never caught on with me.

We used to jab each other unmercifully over our toys and the old premium vs box store tractors. Whatever happened to the guy who would give out with the....BWAAAAAAAAA... every now and then. He was a Kubota guy. The guy from Texas had a Mexican sounding name but I can't remember it. Anyway good, very good, to hear from you. Maybe some of the other old times will chime in.

Think that was Slammer, and he'll probably return when it gets warm again.

    Yep, that was Slammer. Bawahahahaahahahahahaha

And the Texas guy with the Husky did have a Spanish name.

How about the guy with the farm, that collected all those cast iron well hand-pumps and the skip engines? He also turned an old six foot sat dish into a gazebo.

"He also turned an old six foot sat dish into a gazebo."

LOL. Some of the 'inovations' that pop-up on this forum crack me up. Reminds me of a local guy that converted a Henry J into a 'pickup' truck by cutting out the back end of the car, and closing up the driver's compartment with plywood - a forerunner of the Chevy El Camino. ;~)

    t

    Willie Nunez was the Texan

    Kromedome was the bald dealer

Kbeitz is the pump/engine/satellite dish-gazebo owner

I miss tractorguy and cockpitmaster. Those two were a hoot when they started arguing. That arguing eventually got them booted, but it was fun while it lasted.

P.S. those other people didn't get kicked of for nothing. A few drifted off quietly but many sealed their own fates by purposely angering "Spike".

The guy with the dish was kbeitz or something like that. That Mexican sounding guy was willie something or other I think.

    WILLIE NUNEZ FOR PRESIDENT

This is one of the best threads in a long long time. What memories. I must be getting old because I miss some of the guys that caused my collar to heat up in the past. I too go to that other tractor forum but it just doesn't work for me.

You guys remember BigL22, he could argue with the best of them. Must have been a literary giant or something. REJ2.

Yep BigL22 I think he was the postman who went postal from time to time.Another nice guy from the past.

There was also a guy who had a YardBug Yardman.People razzed him about what a POS it was.He really got hot under the collar. Was a real comedy act.

Then there was a fellow who worked at a Sears store. He mentioned new models he unpacked and was the first to see what was coming out.

Ya.... like the Bob Vila limited edition model. A GT5000 if I remember correctly. That led to a "let's rip Vila apart" series of posts.

how about bontai joe,USNed,Ducati- some of the good old boys also missing from this forum.docRx

Speaking of old threads... Did I miss the 'Time to put Winter Air in your tires' thread? I don't remember seeing that gem this season. Can't remember the guy that used to start that thread, but it was great. I laughed till I cried.

I miss kbeitz's projects and pics.

    ...da good ole days.

Here is a link that might be useful: kbeitz website

It just ain't the same anymore. There used to be a blow-hard know-it-all that would join every couple of months or so and then it would be fun to try to push them over the edge until they self-destructed and Spike gave them the boot. Now Spike is locked up in a closet somewhere at GW headquarters and is only allowed out when its time to serve tea to the old ladies. Meanwhile the only thin skinned poster left is don_ and he hardly posts anymore. I think it's time for a revival and time to post the cracked frame, mini-blinds, and burnt up JD pictures.

I do miss the good ole days - and it would seem I was missed when I was on hiatus (someone asked for me earlier). In truth, I had to donate my left one in order to get back on, but its all good and I still have at least one more to give. I used to whine with the best of them :)

I was looking at my archives and saw a few pictures that made me laugh and cry. It also brought feverish retorts from the Simplicity boys ( who I do miss) and brings back the subject of corn rows and baffle kits - that was the best..

Also the little deere with the missing clip on the front wheel brought much angst from the green team ;)

    enjoy the pic's

Wheely boy how dare you bring up my old name. Due to some strange goings on I had to change my name from Don_ to don_1_2006. I suspected you right away but I could never prove anything. What do you mean thing skinned? I am here to defend truth and justice.

Does any here remeber Modre! He had a crapsman Lt and did alot earth moving and grading with home made implements.
A very knowledgeable dude, who "lost it" with a few on here.
Spike sent him to Disney and he came back, but lost interest, he posts on the other forum every once and a while.

I enjoy(ed) reading Modre's posts. His writings were above the comprehension of most people however.

Great thread! like many others i have a new name and mainly frequent other forums but GW was the 1st forum i ever visited and the memories are great!

I wonder how our ol' buddy fbeard is doing these days? He's another one that got pushed over the edge!! I think he and chromedome may have moved in together.

Yea fbeard he liked to put up the picture of the single deck hanger bracket diagram with the smiley face on it.Hillariuos to some but the L series guys hated it.

Seems to me one would naturally expect this to happen with new members coming on board from time to time.
I guess it could be prevented by not accepting any more new members.

    lb,
People post questions, looking for timely replies to a problem they have that is right in front of them. They don't give a rat's ass what you or anyone else has to say about their problem a month after the fact. And no, no one expects new members to read the archives and provide responses to DEAD ISSUES like you are fond of doing but they're certainly welcome to comment on current ones, if they have something worthwhile to add.

Do you guys not realize that you are just wasting your time with this jerkoff?

He isn't in the market for either of these tractors or any tractor, for that matter. His only reason for being here is to ask stupid questions in thread after thread after thread after thread.

Essentially, he is a troll and should be ignored, not encouraged.

Go check the board and see the number of dumbass threads he has started.

    Enough, already.

What are you trying to tell us castoff??

WOW.... lawn & garden tractors was the last place I thought I'd see these kinds of shennanigans....... I LIKE IT!

To play devils advocate, as a newbie to these forums, I'll just start my own new threads, and not dig into the past lest I get drawn and quartered by all the "JD Homers" that seem to lurk here.

Sorry boys, my $300 used mower cuts just as good, and just as quick as your $3500 megamachine..... Or am I missing something because my "JD crack dealer" won't come out to the house once a year, and do all the stuff I should be doing myself anyway? Or is it that cheesy little sticker he gives me to put on my truck window, that I could just as easily go to the store and buy myself? What do I have to do to be a man if I can't afford to buy a JOHN DEERE?

+++ Insert sound of gasoline pouring from the can...... and DOCSpanky lighting a match!" +++

    BOOM!

    God I love this place!

You can always find a John Deere somewhere for any price.

docspanky!!!!!!!! You get away from that hornets nest and put that stick down right now!! If I have to tell you again you'll go to your room and put your nose in the corner young man!

AWW MAN..... you guys never let me have any fun!
