Stihl FS36 issues

Older Stihl fs36 curved shaft trimmer starts and runs good for about five-eight minutes then it dies and won't stay running at all.

I have cleaned the exhaust port and screen and decarboned the muffler with high heat thinki9ng it was clogged but no beans.

It still runs the same. The carb looks fine and I have never fiddled with it too much. The plug is new ngk set to proper gap.

What else could it be? I think fuel delivery but not real sure where to look first. Any tips?

Did it have fuel left in it over the off season? It may need a fuel system o/h but IMHO, it is not worth spending a lot of time on. The newer FS38 is a much better unit and inexpensive.

Hello canguy. Its had fresh fuel/oil mix. It started doing this last summer so I'm thinking it must be a malfunction but I'm not sure where to look.

I'm in the market for a couple new trimmers but I'm the type of person who has to have a reason to discard something that has been functioning fine till now for such a long time. I just need to know why its not running right first then I'll decide what to do with it.
You mention the fs38, my dealer has those in stock but I don't recall the price what are they running in your area?
