K & S weedeater

Can anyone tell me who manufactures the K & S weedeaters.

I have a K&S weedeater model 831 and it has a brush cutter attachment, I am trying to find out if this can be swapped out for a string attachment or if there is a compatible head I can attach to it

I think K&S was originally a Cosco brand, which was then later sold to MTD. If you've got Model number and Serial number, you might try MTD's website for a manual and IPL.
