John Deere 100 Series

Are the 100 Series mowers from John Deere any good? I know there usefulness is limited to mowing, and basic tasks. But how reliable are they and how many years should I expect a properly maintained unit?

I only have a 1/2 acre and am wondering what is the best option in a rider.
