Recomendation wanted

Hi. I'm a big guy, around 350 lbs. but in otherwise good health except I'll soon be 60. I've always used a push or walk behind mower but I'm ready to start riding. Our lawn is about 3/4 acre, flat & level with few obstructions. Before I start looking, I'd like to know if my weight is going to be a problem for a lawn tractor. I would imagine it could be stressful for the frame, engine and transmission. I don't see the need to tow so that won't be an added factor.

So, What suggestions can you give me as to what I should look for? I'm open to brand, model and construction suggestions.

What's you budget? I would look for a couple year old Deere X500.

F Any these carry you around no problem they work better with some added weight. I don't know this person selling I'm in Georgia. fender on these take weight getting on off.

I'd suggest one of the heavy duty Cub Cadet garden tractors. The tractors sold by Sears and K-mart, aren't strong enough, nor powerful, to haul yer great weight around on soft lawns, etc.
I'd even suggest a zero-turn type, made for hard usage. A commercial type would be made stronger than a Craftsman! JMHO! Rusty Jones

Maybe get one of the wider walk behinds.
That may help keep you from weighing 400?

I thought if I kept it inside, changed the oil regularly, didn't run over rocks and sticks that it would last forever. Now I have to lose 100# too?? This sucks.

I don't get it. Those little rascal carts seem to do a pretty good job moving the 400 pounders around Walmart. Maybe someone should put a moving deck on one of those.
