last I knew with centipede was to plant it by plugging. Do they have a seed for such now ?

Earthway makes good products. Just don't buy the 80lb Precisefit spreader sold by Lowes. It's junk. I had a 125 lb Brinly spreader which I gave to my Dad because I thought it was more than I needed and took up too much space in my little shed. I wish i still had it.
You should seed centipede or bermuda with a small hand-held spreader. A large broad cast spreader will not be precise enough to spread it evenly. One technique is to seed it with annyal rye, which will germinate quickly and help keep the weeds down while the centipede wakes up. Centipede will take about three years before it really starts running. Common Bermuda will establish quicker. Sprigs are better to start centipede. If you want hybrid bermuda (the fine leaved cultivar you see on golf greens in the south) you'll need to start it from sprigs or sod, as it is sterile. I have hybrid Bermuda in my front lawn, and common Bermuda in my back lawn. The two mesh together very well, but the hybrid needs much less mowing. My neighbor has centipede, which is constanly trying to invade my Bermuda. I had to till a flowerbed the entire length of the yard to halt the offensive weed grass. I guess Centipede requires the least mowing of the three, if you don't mind the seeds which sprout after about five days.
Just make sure you do a good PH test before spending a couple hundred bucks on quality seed or sprigs. Centipede like acidic soil, bermuda prefers alkaline.
