I have a tiller with a Briggs & Stratton engine, model 130292-0159-02 with a Pulsa-Jet carburetor.

This year I had trouble starting it. The points, condenser and plug were replaced. I finally got it started and tilled the garden, but part way through noticed the top of the fuel tank was wet. I wiped it off, but within a short time, it was wet again.

I finished the garden and parked the tiller. Now it won't start. A couple weeks ago I put a bit of fuel under the plug and reinstalled the plug. I pulled the starter cord a couple times with no luck. Within a few seconds of doing this, the top of the fuel tank was wet again. I wiped it off and noticed gasoline leaking around the choke. The fuel seemed to go straight from under the plug, through the carburetor and out around the choke.

It did start for a few seconds, I presume from the gasoline put under the plug.

What would make the fuel leak around the choke? It isn't leaking at any point where the carb is attached to the motor of fuel tank. It's right around the choke at the end of the Pulsa-Jet carburetor.

Any other suggestions why it may not want to start?
