Echo Chainsaw running problems

Chainsaw would not even start and I took apart the carb., cleaned the inside, which had junk in it. Put it back together and it'll start and run, but when giving gas it acts like it wants to die. I have to slowly give it gas.

Any ideas whats wrong? Do I need a rebiuld kit for the carb.?

Sounds like you are running lean. If an older machine (pre-EPA) richen main jet 1/4 turn. Next, check fuel pick-up for clogging. Usually a weighted fitting with fine mesh spun filter media. Lastly, a carb rebuild might now be in order, if a thorough soaking in carb cleaner didn't work,

chainsaw will only run in choke... I have tried to troubleshoot with the carb kit... still no luck...Continues to only runs in choke. What should I do next?
