My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
When going down hills the mower has a couple of issues (1) A loud clapping noise under the seat and (2) A ticking noise, kind of like when a car is put into park while still moving. The mower also does not brake going down hills. Any ideas?
You may have to dig into this further. It could be a transaxle problem. Start by removing the battery and inspect the traction belts. There are two and should they be glazed and chunking, that could be part of your issue as well. You will obviously have to verify operation of the brake itself.
I have replaced both drive belts. I also disassembled the transaxle and replaced the smaller of the three gears. I replaced it as it looked worn. I then cleaned and re-greased the transaxle parts and reassembled. I did inspect braking system and all was fine with that.
There isn't a lot that will make noise on this drive system. If the transaxle is securely anchored and is not able to rock- the thought would be the noise comes from inside. The variable speed pulley and idler should be turning smoothly. I trust that you used OEM belts? Both pads installed and caliper adjusted? In the end though, if the brakes lock the disc, the trans is skipping inside if it won't hold the tractor. Give us the model # from below the seat.
paul277 - if you don't post the full technical model number as tomplum noted, your info/prob/request is of little use to us. That technical model number is the only way we have of accessing the correct documentation for that particular machine.
Micah , Paul is not a regular forum participant ! I would follow the path referred too within this Thread . However a call out to Tractor Forum Guru tomplum !
