I have a 18.5 mower that I am having trouble with.I replaced the battery,selonoid,bendix.The starter makes a whining sound when I turn the key and the engine want turn over strong enough to start.Anybody have ideas I could try?

was the tractor behaving the same way before you changed out the batt/solenoid/bendix? Would also help to have the full model number off the ID plate in the cavity under the tilting seat....

Battery cable terminals filed or brushed clean, tight and on the proper terminals? Are you describing that the starter is engaging, trying to turn the engine- but it seems to difficult to crank?

Yes I am saying the starter engages but won't turn the engine over.It makes a sound like a automobile starter when the bendix is bad. Yes the mower was doing the same think before I made all of the changes.
