Another which tractor ($2300)

I've been to HD, Lowes, Sears (and the outlet) and local Cub dealer.

I've narrowed my choices down to:

JD LA115 ($1699 - HD)

Cub LTX1045 ($1699 - local cub dealer)

Husq YTH22V46 ($1599 - I think I can get an extra 20% off)

Husq YTH21K46 ($1599 - Lowes)

Husq YTH22V42LS ($2200 - local Husq dealer - visiting tomorrow)

Craftsman YT4000 ($1600 but an extra 10% off this Sunday)

Used JD LT145 with bagger ($1500) - says it's new condition but haven't seen it yet. Not sure year yet either.

HavenÂt been to the local JD dealer yet but will tomorrow.

I've read a ton of postings on most of these but I'm not sure what's the best one? I don't mind spending a little more for something that will give me less headaches later on. Original budget was $1500 but I'd rather spend more if it means longer life. I can do regular maintenance, so easy of that would also be nice. I don't care what brand and I now Husq makes the YT4000.

Uses: mowing 1-1.5 acres - some 20deg slope, plug aeration, hauling mulch, wood, rocks etc - 800lbs max, NO snow plowing, lawn roller.

My 1st pick: JD LT 145, a good quality lawn tractor
My 2nd pick: the Husq LS with what I assume is limited slip differential.
My 3rd pick: The Husq with 22HP (twin cylinder?) and 46" deck. Supposed to be a new design deck and only 2 blades instead of 3 I believe (without looking it up).

I would put a lot of emphasis on WHO I bought it from. Take time to talk to each seller and ask a lot of what if questions. Everything new in America today will have some sort of weak spot. One bad thing or another that needs to be replaced. See who will repair the problem or who will refer it to someone else, someone else, etc. If you can go out and get the part and fix it yourself who will carry these parts? I know they will all probably say Yeah We can fix it for you....but you need to get a feeling of trust. Good luck!

Since your in CT, if you are near Southbury, look up the local Simplicity dealer - Chatfield's. Great products and exceptional service. I would recommend the Broadmoor or the Conquest for what you want to do. And you will spend a little more for a Simplicity.

I have to echo Popcorn, its not the what but the WHO you deal with. Service is the most important aspect for me.
