I have the same engine with similar issues as kev-aus. It was a bit hard to start. once running it takes time to warm up before the choke can be opened. Then it will idle well. Full rpm the engine searches or surges and spits mists of fuel out the carberator air intake. If the choke is cloased 3/4 of the way it will smooth out. Tonight I cleaned the fuel tank, changed the filter cleaned and rebuilt the fuel pump and clean out the float bowl, and got a lot of particulate out. I want to set the float level does anyone know the gap it should have from the float to the housing?
