Hi Vicky- I am growing this rose, which I purchased from Heirloom as a band last spring. I haven't had it long enough to give any comment about disease, or how the flowers hold up, or anything like that. It doesn't seem to be very well-known: Help Me Find doesn't list parentage, and there is only one picture. I've seen it growing in Heirloom's garden, and it was about 5 feet tall, which is much taller than the 3' stated on their website. The flowers are quartered, and when fully open they're flat. The "myrrh" fragrance is pretty, to my nose, unlike some of the David Austin "myrrh" roses...which (to me) can smell AWFUL. The picture is from last August, of the ONE flower that I allowed to open. I'm very curious to see what the plant does this summer.

Vicky, I've been growing this rose for three years. I love it. It's still small (planted in a rain shadow bed and I'm not as diligent as I should be in watering this bed), but it's a trouper, smells delicious, and is blooming beautifully right now. My Tranquility blooms are paler than than the one that's posted, and very delicate looking. The color of the posted picture looks more like my Radio Times which is growing beside Tranquility, and Tranquility is definitely not as brightly colored as Radio Times. Lou

I took that picture when the bud had just begun to open, so naturally the color was deeper. You might have noticed that I live in Oregon...we don't have Texas-style sun here, so my blooms don't bleach out quite as quickly as yours might. I have seen that rose growing at Heirloom gardens in Oregon, and in hot weather the blooms are MUCH paler, almost white. I was pleasantly surprised to see mine bloom with a little more color : )

Tranquility reminds me very much of Heritage and has the same soft coloring and sweet scent. The plant is well behaved and neat. I lost mine to canker but while I had it, I liked it very much.

We received a band of Tranquility from Heirloom in mid summer 2011. We transplanted it into a 5 gallon pot and kept it in the pot until fall 2012, when we planted it into the garden. It has grown into a 3 x 3 foot plant and produced spectacular flowers that had more petals than appears in the Heirloom catalogue photo. The foliage is clean here, but many roses that are problematic in other areas with various rose diseases, are clean here. The color here is a faint blush pink, and the blossoms are very flat, 4 inches across, and quartered, somewhat like Sombrieul. The flowers retain their petals much longer than those of Heritage and look good on the plant for around 4 days. We are very pleased that we ordered this one; it is our second favorite new rose of the year. One that we like even a bit more is Heirloom's Safari. Roses tend to grow larger here than the advertised size. I expect that this one will be at least a 5 foot x 5 foot plant when it matures.

I have seen this rose ywice now growing in his display garden at Albrighton, it is white as you will see in the link and intoduced in 2012, so I am guessing from the photos it is not the DA rose.

Absolutely correct, David. The rose being discussed in this thread is the Clements rose 'Tranquility' (spelled with one L), http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.39505, as opposed to the Austin rose 'Tranquillity' (spelled with two L's), http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.67031. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time and frustrated searches to notice the difference in the spelling, which I hear is American vs. British spelling. Thanks to this forum I figured it out.

..this is funny to me as despite the double 'l' being regarded as British, I've always spelled tranquility with one l, not that it's a word one uses too often... when I first saw the double 'l', I felt they had spelt it wrong...

...and as for shalott/shallots... let's not go there...

Any updates on Heirloom’s Tranquility rose? I would love to see pictures of your mature plants. I just received my it from Heirloom roses yesterday. My first order from them. It’s smaller than I expected but reading all the positive reviews has me hopeful. Please share any pics you have... especially pictures of the whole bush. I would love to see what I have to look forward to.

I won't be able to help you there. I removed mine shortly after this last post since it didn't want to grow much for me, didn't take the heat well, the flowers suffered from what I now know as thrips, it didn't want to bloom much, and the flowers smelled strange. The cooler weather flowers were very beautiful, and it was with a very heavy heart that I removed it. Should do better for you in your climate though. Please share when yours blooms!
