Sorry, no Ryobi experience, but I just picked up a Makita set (14.4 volt drill, impact driver, and light) that I don't know how I got through life without. 200 bucks +/- a couple on Amazon.

I've used a Ryobi cordless drill with adjustable impact head for years. I use mostly as a nut/screw driver which is why I bought it with the imnpact head. Have been real happy with it but it is an older unit with Ni-Cads.

The new Lithium batteries are supposed to be a big improvement over Ni-Cads so I would think you'd be happy with it. I do suggest handling one before buying it. Different models from the same manufacture as well as other manufactures simply have different feel/balance to them. If it doesn't feel good to you, you aren't gonna like it regardless how good it is functionally.
