Did you ever drive your well point? My husband and I are trying to install an 1.25 drive point well. We dug the hole about 5 feet, past the clay to sand. Then we started driving. No water is staying in the pipe at all, contrary to what all of the on line instructions have said. We pounded 5 hours on Saturday and another 5 hours on Sunday and we have only gone 12 feet (5 of which is the hole we dug - so only 7 feet in the undisturbed ground). We are so sore it isn't funny and we are starting to think we never should have started this. if you drove yours, - can you tell me - is this pace normal? we are using the drive tool with a handle on each side and lead on the top alternating with a sledge hammer. And do you know why water will not stay in the pipe - or is it your expeience that the water doesn't stay in the pipe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
