They make kits for flower beds, I have seen them on ebay and at different locations on the internet, type in drip irrigation a search. I myself have beds around my house and I ran pvc pipe along the edge (you can bury the pipe also) anyway I drilled holes in the pipe and stuck plastic tubing in the holes. I bought what is called p's and the other end of the tubing goes in this. the p sticks right in the ground at the root of your plant. You can get things like that at walmart or some nurseries, alot of nurseries use products similar to this. There is company in New York Chapin Watermatics (this is what they speciallize in that sells this stuff also.
But look around on the internet and you can find what i am talking about.

Matched Precip can be had very easily for areas at least 8' wide.
Use an MP Rotator head in a standard pop up. Matched precip at any radius or angle.

I have seen some areas use drip hose for strips of turf, and I can see the hose lines. The other one I saw had sod coming up in chunks. I am not saying it can't be done, just never personally seen it work out well.

thank you mrpike, I had a suspicion that drip pipe in turf would leave stripes. I'll look into those heads.
