Rainbird Sprinkler Heads - How to Adjust?

My inground sprinkler system has two different kind of sprinkler heads...in the front, it has the pop-up "spray in one direction" (I know, how technical) and in the back, there are pop-up "rotating" sprinkler heads that slowly rotate clockwise alternating turning the flow "on" and then "off" for about 5 total water strands. Rainbird is the brand for all the heads.

I can't figure out how to adjust the ones in the backyard! I can rotate the heads, "tighten" the little tiny screw in the top, pop them up manually to look around...but nothing seems to have an effect. I would like to turn one off altogether...but no luck.

Suggestions?
