Can anyone recommend

A small version of a rose which fits the color bill of Reve d'Or or Mme Berard?

I need it to tame the transition between some roses which are a bit on the bright side (Dreaming Spires and Brandy) and Iceberg. I plopped Reve d'Or into the space, but it's just gonna be too big and I need a smaller version of something in that soft face-powder but not pink coloring.

Hoag House Cream? Flowers on mine are exactly the same color as my Reve d'Or today.

Oh good idea. I will take a look at/for it. HMF seems to have good things to say about it too. Great !!!!

How does yours grow (height, health, etc.)

Mine is just starting its second year in the ground, so still young. Judging from the one at the SJHRG, though, I am expecting it to be roughly 4-5' x 4-5'. Growth is upright but not "stiff sticks". Thus far, exceptionally healthy here, even this year.

    That would work.
    Thanks very much.

What about Perle 'd Or? I guess I am not quite sure what you mean by smoothing the transition. Are you looking for apricot? white? yellow? What size?

Hmmm....I will take a closer look at Perle d'Or. I've already got her, but she isn't in a particularly good location now, so just maybe moving her to this place would fix two problems with one dig.

    Thanks.

PdO sounds like a good choice. Gruss an Aachen is smaller and similar in color. Also, Souv de Pierre Notting is a smaller Tea - yellow with a little pink. Mlle Franziska Kruger is salmony/yellow-y.

Now there you go confusing me again: my Gruss an Aachen is quite a bit larger than my Perle d'Or.

Still in all, I think Perle d'Or is going to get the nod. I won't have time to dig and move her for a couple of days, so don't hold me to it, and other ideas are welcome in the meantime, but at least you've given me a workable plan.

    Thanks again and as usual.

For the time being I have plonked Sunshine (Polyantha) into the space. We will see. I move roses around like I'm playing checkers, so if it doesn't fill the bill there, I'll just move it again when the spirit (and the energy) grabs me.

She's VERY small, however. VERY small!

I note that Jim Delahanty recommends planting a group of three of her. I mean, she's smaller than most Miniatures. And she's really golden, rather than apricot.

I think she will be a permanent pot plant here. That lets me put her up where I can smell her, which is a must for this little fragrant beauty.

Miss Atwood is a beautiful tea with apricot coloring. While she's not a climber I imagine she would at least like to be six feet tall. Mine is young so I can't be sure but most teas can be pruned to that size if that's not too large for you. It's a very pretty rose and is doing very well for me.

I've had mine for a few years now and her color is almost exactly like it shows in this picture. It's true that she is small, but I think that will work just fine.
