I don't want to put in a full irrigation system. At this point, I don't even want to have a real system. What I'd like to do is put pipe & popup heads around the perimeter of my house so it waters the flower beds and keeps the foundation evenly watered. Right now, I'd have a connection above ground to hook onto the water hose and turn it on manually. However, I'd like to do all the in-ground pipe so that we can make it a regular system if it works like I want.

We've had full sprinkler systems before, but I can't remember how they did the ditching or connected each zone to the main valve or meter. Is there a website anywhere that shows that?
